On Monday, August 8th, DOT and its allies will begin to tear down 34th Avenue from 90th Street to Junction Boulevard and create another dangerous plaza in front of PS149. Mopeds, e-bikes, and bicycles dangerously speed on the avenue where no traffic rules or regulations are being enforced.
JHCoopsAlliance represents residents and neighbors who live along 34th Avenue from 69th Street to Junction Boulevard and adjoining streets. We are entire communities within the Jackson Heights neighborhood. We take an active role in the evolving issues and concerns that impact our neighborhood and all our neighbors.
Our mission is to advocate for the improvement of our community at large by being a hardworking resource easily approached for the betterment of all our neighbors and residents in the Jackson Heights area and neighboring communities.
We always appreciate volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters and volunteers eager to work towards the betterment of our community.
We are all in this together!
The undersigned, residents of the Jackson Heights community, hereby petition a REVISION AND CHANGES to the plans for the 34th Avenue Open Street program being implemented without community input or any environmental impact studies. We address this petition to City Councilmember Shekar Krishnan, Mayor Eric Adams, Borough President Donovan Richards, Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, State Senator Jessica Ramos, NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez and his representatives, and the NYC Parks Dept. (which manages the median).
